Strategy Lead, Bridging

Shawn Jenkins

Shawn

I lead Einhorn Collaborative’s Bridging strategy, developing and equipping the next generation of bridge-builders.

Something people may not know about me

I am a yoga enthusiast and trained teacher. My experience is with vinyasa, a traditional power flow class, and AcroYoga, a method that combines acrobatics and yoga through a partnered practice. Yoga has helped me to be much more aware of the nuances of my body and breath, to be more present, and to find the joy in connecting with others.

Something that inspires me

“A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit.” — Greek Proverb

Before Einhorn Collaborative

Before Einhorn Collaborative, I spent four years at the College Board, overseeing external partnerships and strategic access initiatives to broaden access to computer science education and strengthen civic participation.

Prior to that, I dedicated almost a decade to improving college access and providing direct service for talented young people from underserved communities. Starting in 2010, I worked at my alma mater, Franklin & Marshall College, building recruitment and support programs for students who were the first in their families to attend college through the Next Generation Initiative. In 2014, I played a key role in launching Cooperman College Scholars, a New Jersey scholarship program aimed at helping 500 young people graduate from college with the support of a $25 million grant.
