Bridging Strategy
Developing Bridging Leaders
high-impact bridging experiences
Definition
Experiences that equip young people with the mindsets and skills for positive engagement by giving them opportunities to build relationships across lines of difference, collaborate on shared projects, and engage in critical reflection.
Our Why
A cohesive society depends on “bridgers,” people who can collaborate across differences to address community needs and tackle shared challenges. To repair our social fabric, both now and in the future, we need to equip young people with bridging skills and motivations so they can become engaged citizens and effective leaders of tomorrow.
Our How
Young Americans want to understand people with different viewpoints, but don’t always have the tools to do so. To meet this need, we expand access to and increase the number of high-impact bridging experiences that give them an opportunity to learn and practice these skills in places that shape their lives.
